Sterling Sculpture on Loan
About Us
The Sterling Sculpture on Loan program is a way to both beautify the city and promote public art. Rotating on an annual basis, the juried sculptures bring a variety of contemporary sculptures into our public spaces. The artist-loaned sculptures are chosen based on criteria decided by a jury of artists and community members. Stop by to appreciate the creativity, artistry and whimsy of each piece. Parking is available.
The sculptures are for sale to the public and can be purchased by calling Mandy at 970-571-7179. 10% of each purchase is reinvested into the Sterling Sculpture on Loan program, while the remainder helps support the talented artists.
Thank you to our City of Sterling Parks and Rec Department for the creation of spaces to share artwork with all ages on Main Street and Division Ave.

Lininger Bio
Edward Lininger has been a resident of Sterling Colorado for 55 years. He was a Master Electrician for C & B Electric from 1971-1978 then for McMurrin Electric from 1978-1992. He worked as an electrical inspector for the state of Colorado from 1992-2010 when he retired. Edward began making wind spinners 15 years ago after being inspired by moving art pieces in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Working primarily in durable outdoor materials, powder coated for color and weather resistance, he creates forms that interact with the environment. The plains are the perfect space for his work that spins and twirls with the wind. Many of Edward’s pieces have been donated to community auctions and are a hot item! He has created around 30 unique designs.
Ed’s sculptures complement open-air environments while encouraging curiosity, reflection, and conversation among visitors of all ages.

Cho
Hee-Hun Cho is a sculpture artist who began teaching fine art and now digital art at Sterling High School in 2018. Through the physical manipulation of wood and steel Cho creates visually dynamic objects that unite movement and stasis. Inspired by lines and forms in nature the artist shapes these materials by hand using carving, chiseling, rasping and bending to explore volume curve and space. Sound, sight and touch guide his process connecting him physically to the work and transformation of materials.
The piece is titled "Sibling" and is intended to create a quiet moment of discovery within the surrounding landscape.
